The town of Harwich includes the villages of Pleasant Lake, West Harwich, East Harwich, Harwich Center, North Harwich, and South Harwich. Harwich is considered to be the birthplace of the cranberry industry. 

Harwich is the starting point and the ending point of the "Sail Around the Cape" event. In September, it hosts the Harwich Cranberry Festival which includes a spectacular fireworks display.

Arts & Entertainment

The Cape Cod Theatre Company
Located in West Harwich, the Cape Cod Theatre Company has been serving the community with entertainment for than 65 seasons. They put on around 10 shows throughout the year.  

The Cape Cod Ballet Theatre for Children
The Cape Cod Ballet Theatre for Children puts on several performances throughout the year. They also conduct workshops throughout the community.

Brax Landing Restuarant
Enjoy harbor views and local seafood at Brax Landing. Brax Landing has been a Cape Cod staple for decades. Join them for their famous Sunday Brunch. 

The Hot Stove Saloon
The Hot Stove Saloon serves up typical pub fare in a cozy tavern covered in baseball memorabilia. It is located in the center of Harwich. 

Buca's Tuscan Roadhouse
If you are looking for delicious Italian food, head over the Buca's Tuscan Roadhouse. Enjoy traditional Italian cuisine and an extensive wine list. 

Mooncussers Tavern
Located in Harwich Port, Mooncussers Tavern is a great place to relax, sip a glass of wine or one of their eclectic martinis while snacking on tapas. They also feature a full menu of American fare with generous portions. 

Ruggie's 
Open 6am to 2pm, Ruggie's is a casual diner with counter seating. If you're feeling up for a challenge, "The Duke" might be for you. You have 30 minutes to finish the whole plate and 8oz glass of juice. Only 9 people have ever succeeded. If you finish, your meal is free, your picture goes on the wall forever, and you get a Ruggie's t-shirt.

This small beach doesn't have a whole lot of room, luckily it doesn't get too busy. A staircase leads you down to the beach which has good sand, calm waves, and several rock jetties. Atlantic Avenue Beach has a beautiful view of Nantucket Sound.

This popular beach offers warm waters that are perfect for swimming. This is a great place to search for beach treasure like seashells. 

Earle Road Beach

Earle Road Beach is a serene beach with ample parking. The rock jetties invite you to take a walk and enjoy the peaceful views of Nantucket Sound. 

Fernandes Bog at Long Pond

This freshwater beach has a roped off swimming area as well as a boat ramp. This serene beach, home to lots of ducks, is popular for kayaking. There is a large parking lot and plenty of spcae on the beach. It's a great place for kids and there are lifeguards on duty.

Grey Neck is a great place to get away from hectic, everyday life. The beautiful view of Nantucket Sound and the small waves make for a great place to relax and catch a tan.

This large beach offers many amenities, making it a great place for a day with the family. The gentle waves and soft sand make it ideal for sandcastle building.

Schools

Students from Harwich attend Monomoy Regional Schools with neighboring Chatham. Monomoy Regional High School is known for its excellent basketball, field hockey, baseball, and softball teams. 

The Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, in Harwich,  is a charter school for middle school children. 

Harwich is also home to the Cape Cod Regional Technical School which serves 9-12th graders from all over Cape Cod.
